Who We Are

THE
JET
LAGGERS

Moni and Dunny, co-founders of The Jet Lag Chronicles
Moni and Dunny exploring a new destination

We are Moni and Dunny the faces behind The Jet Lag Chronicles. A Canadian-Colombian seeking answers to the important question: where does life acutally treat you best? So far, we&amp:ve lived across five cities and four countries. That wasn&t enough.

Why we started this: Most travel content is built for two-week vacations. We needed something built for people making real moves — visas, leases, bank accounts, tax residency. We couldn't find it, so we built it.

Career-wise, we come from tech and salesand found our way into remote earning positions. We also happen to have an obsession for travel and nomadic lifestyle. That means everything here is either lived, tested, or researched with our own decisions in mind. We built the resource we wish had existed when we started.

The People Behind It

MEET
THE CREW

Two people. One mission. We're not influencers. We're not sponsored. We're just deeply obsessed with figuring out how to live better abroad and sharing everything we find.

DUNNY

The writer. The mouth piece. The one who talks and negotiates. Dunny brings a sales background, a brutal honesty, and a genuine hatred for vague travel advice and bubbly influencers. If there's a whisper of a new destination, a weird visa workaround or a hidden cost buried in the fine print, he'll find it.

WHAT DRIVES BOTH OF US

  • The world doesn't owe you adventure. You have to go get it.
  • Bad information costs people real money and real time.
  • There's a better version of your life waiting in a different timezone.
  • Independence is worth building carefully and deliberately.

What We're Here To Do

HELPING YOU
BUILD A BETTER
LIFE ABROAD

Everything we publish is built for expats and digital nomads who are making real decisions, not daydreaming about them. We cover the destinations, visa pathways, tax structures, and daily realities that actually determine whether a move works.

We don't write for people planning a two-week vacation. We write for people who are asking: where can I actually build a sustainable, affordable, genuinely good life and how do I get there?

⚡ A NOTE ON INDEPENDENCE

Look, we&ve never turned down a sponsored campaign or a paid partnership… because absolutely nobody has offered! If a tourism board does want to throw cash our way (wink wink), we’re happy to take it, though we&ll still give you our actual, unvarnished opinions. Until then, while our guides might feature a few strategic affiliate links and hotel commissions, we still actually bother to use, vet, or at least survive the stuff we recommend instead of just copy-pasting generic travel brochures.

What We Cover

Destinations

Real cost breakdowns, neighbourhood guides, and honest assessments of what living there actually looks like.

Visas & Residency

Requirements, income thresholds, tax implications, and the processes that actually work from application to approval.

Cost of Living

Monthly budgets, rent ranges, food costs, and the hidden expenses that drain newcomers faster than they expect.

Tax Strategy

What the territorial tax countries are. What being a tax resident means. What you should know before you move.

Remote Work Life

Coworking spaces, connectivity realities, timezone management, and finding the right base for your work style.

Practical Intel

Banking abroad, health insurance, SIM cards, lease agreements, and all the operational stuff nobody tells you about.

WHY TRUST
THIS?

We aren’t relocation gurus handing down flawless wisdom from a mountain, but we have been around the block. Honestly, we’re out here experiencing, learning how to make this lifestyle a success. Signing the leases, navigating the immigration desks, and figuring out the banking systems so we can all map out where to go and why.

Real Experience, Not Research

We've lived and worked across multiple countries. We know the difference between a pipedream and reality.

No Sugarcoating

Just because we like a place doesn’t mean it is free from criticism. Useful information isn't always flattering. We're on your side, not the tourism board's.

Zero Sponsorship Bias

We're not paid by destinations to write positive content. If we love a place, it's because we actually love it. If we don't, we'll tell you that too.

Written With Our Own Skin In The Game

Every guide is researched and written with our own decisions in mind. We're not writing for you in the abstract. We're writing for people wanting the same lifestyle.

Let's Be Clear

WHAT
WE'RE
NOT

We know what we are and what we are not. No cornball influencer fantasies. No tourism-board money. Just the reality of life abroad for people who are actually building one.

Not This

  • A travel inspiration blog
  • A sponsored destination guide
  • An influencer platform
  • A "best of" listicle factory
  • A two-week vacation planner
  • AI-generated filler content

This

  • A relocation intelligence platform
  • Independent, unsponsored reporting
  • Lived, tested, first-person research
  • Practical data: visas, taxes, costs
  • Long-term slow travel and expat life
  • Written by people with skin in the game

What We Stand For

OUR VALUES

01Transparency

Transparency

We try to share the reality. Last thing we want to do is sell you a pipedream. The full picture involves uncomfortable truths that need to be discussed as much as the things we love.

02Community First

Community First

This platform exists because of the thousands of nomads and expats who've asked the same questions we ask. We build for them, not for SEO metrics.

03Information > Influencer

Information > Influencer

Gorgeous photography is nice. Knowing visa requirements or what your monthly budget is before you book a flight is better. We prioritize useful over beautiful.

04Always Evolving

Always Evolving

Visa rules change. Costs shift. Cities rise and fall in the nomad rankings. We update relentlessly because outdated information has no value.
