We're a Canadian-Colombian digital nomads mapping out our next international relocatio. We decided to learn in public. Visa requirements, tax and financial risk, cost of living, and everything you need to know to make location freedom possible.
Who We Are
We are Moni and Dunny the faces behind The Jet Lag Chronicles. A Canadian-Colombian seeking answers to the important question: where does life acutally treat you best? So far, we&:ve lived across five cities and four countries. That wasn&t enough.
Why we started this: Most travel content is built for two-week vacations. We needed something built for people making real moves — visas, leases, bank accounts, tax residency. We couldn't find it, so we built it.
Career-wise, we come from tech and salesand found our way into remote earning positions. We also happen to have an obsession for travel and nomadic lifestyle. That means everything here is either lived, tested, or researched with our own decisions in mind. We built the resource we wish had existed when we started.

Two people. One mission. We're not influencers. We're not sponsored. We're just deeply obsessed with figuring out how to live better abroad and sharing everything we find.

From Colombia to Montreal and beyond. Two passports and a laptop. The code pusher. The site builder. Monica has relocated to 3 continents and has traveled 25+ countries. She is the organized one who brings some order to the madness of our nomadic life.

The writer. The mouth piece. The one who talks and negotiates. Dunny brings a sales background, a brutal honesty, and a genuine hatred for vague travel advice and bubbly influencers. If there's a whisper of a new destination, a weird visa workaround or a hidden cost buried in the fine print, he'll find it.
What We're Here To Do
Everything we publish is built for expats and digital nomads who are making real decisions, not daydreaming about them. We cover the destinations, visa pathways, tax structures, and daily realities that actually determine whether a move works.
We don't write for people planning a two-week vacation. We write for people who are asking: where can I actually build a sustainable, affordable, genuinely good life and how do I get there?
Look, we&ve never turned down a sponsored campaign or a paid partnership… because absolutely nobody has offered! If a tourism board does want to throw cash our way (wink wink), we’re happy to take it, though we&ll still give you our actual, unvarnished opinions. Until then, while our guides might feature a few strategic affiliate links and hotel commissions, we still actually bother to use, vet, or at least survive the stuff we recommend instead of just copy-pasting generic travel brochures.

Signing the leases, navigating the immigration desks, and figuring out the banking systems so we can all map out where to go and why.
We've lived and worked across multiple countries. We know the difference between a pipedream and reality.
Just because we like a place doesn’t mean it is free from criticism. Useful information isn't always flattering. We're on your side, not the tourism board's.
We're not paid by destinations to write positive content. If we love a place, it's because we actually love it. If we don't, we'll tell you that too.
Every guide is researched and written with our own decisions in mind. We're not writing for you in the abstract. We're writing for people wanting the same lifestyle.

Gorgeous photography is nice. Knowing visa requirements or what your monthly budget is before you book a flight is better. We prioritize useful over beautiful.
04 — Always Evolving
Visa rules change. Costs shift. Cities rise and fall in the nomad rankings. We update relentlessly because outdated information has no value.
